Privacy Policy

This site collects as little as a website can. We have no ad trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, and no accounts. The personal data we hold from gigahertz.dev is, almost entirely, what you choose to write to us.

1. Who we are

gigahertz.dev is operated by Gigahertz Innovations LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Gigahertz”, “we”, “us”). Gigahertz Innovations LLC is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the website at gigahertz.dev and to email you send to any @gigahertz.dev address. It does not cover our products, which have their own policies because they handle far more data than this site does:

Products we have not yet announced will publish their own policy before they accept any user data.

3. What we collect

Your name, email address, and whatever you writeWhen you email us, or request early accessYou
IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, timestampsEvery visit, in standard server logsYour browser, automatically
Aggregate, anonymised page-view countsEvery visit, if our hosting provider's built-in analytics is enabledHosting provider

We do not collect payment details, precise location, or profile data on this site. We do not buy data about you from anyone.

4. How we use it

  • To answer your email and, if you asked for early access to a product, to tell you when it opens.
  • To keep the site running, detect abuse, and understand roughly how many people visit and which pages they read.
  • To meet legal obligations, for example tax and company-law record keeping.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not train machine-learning models on email you send us.

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: legitimate interests (running and securing a website, replying to people who contact us); consent (when you ask to be contacted about a future product, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (record keeping). Where other privacy laws apply, including US state laws, we process your data only for the purpose you gave it to us for.

6. Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run a website and a mailbox, under contracts that limit them to acting on our instructions:

  • Hosting and content delivery for gigahertz.dev, which receives server-log data.
  • Email provider for @gigahertz.dev mailboxes, which stores the messages you send us.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where the law requires it.

If Gigahertz is ever acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner under this same policy. We will tell you before that happens.

7. How long we keep it

  • Server logs: up to 30 days, then deleted or reduced to aggregate counts.
  • Email correspondence: while the conversation is open and for up to 24 months after, unless we need it longer for a legal or accounting reason.
  • Early-access requests: until the product launches and you have been told, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever is first.

8. International transfers

We are based in the United States and use providers that may store data in the United States or the European Union. Where data leaves the EU or UK, we rely on adequacy decisions or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Email hello@gigahertz.dev; we reply within 30 days and delete on request within 48 hours where no legal hold applies. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Cookies

gigahertz.dev sets no cookies of its own. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when they are fetched; no cookies are set by that request. Links to tweetsmash.com, linkedmash.com and social networks take you to sites governed by their own cookie policies.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Mail to us is encrypted in transit with TLS where the sending server supports it. Access to our mailbox and hosting is restricted to the founders and protected with multi-factor authentication.

12. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

13. Changes

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. For material changes, we will add a notice on this page for at least 30 days.
